The first time you log in as a new user, you will need to:
- Change the temporary password you have been assigned
- Set up your security questionsand PIN
- Review your user profile
NOTE: New users at companies with Single Sign On (SSO) capabilities do not set up security questions.
Setting/Changing Your Password
The first time you sign on as a new user, you will need to change the temporary password you have been assigned. Passwords must meet the following requirements:
- Unique
- At least eight characters long
- Contain at least two letters
- Contain at least one number
- Contain at least one special character: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ) (
- Cannot repeat the same character three or more times consecutively (for example, aaa)
- Cannot contain spaces
- As best practice, should not contain any portion of the user's first name, surname or username
For security purposes, users must reset passwords at designated time intervals.
NOTE:If you need to reset your password after you have begun using the application, the criteria above apply plus the password cannot have been used as one of your previous ten passwords.
Setting Your Security Questions and PIN
New users must also set security questions and a voice security personal identification number (PIN). These questions are used to verify your identity if you forget your password or have locked yourself out of the system with three unsuccessful attempts to enter your password. The PIN is used for placing orders via phone.
- Select 3 different challenge questions (out of the 12 available questions) and enter your answers.
- Enter a four-digit numeric PIN code that you will use to identify yourself over the phone.
Reviewing your User Profile
The first time you sign on as a new user, you will be prompted to review your user profile after you set your password, security questions and PIN.
- Update any incorrect or missing information. Complete all * required fields.
- Click Confirm.
- Your changes are saved and the Iron Mountain Connect homepage opens.
